Introducing Missouri FCCLA Region 14! We're Growing!

The 2008-09 Missouri FCCLA State Executive Council made history on December 8, 2009 during their Winter State Executive Council Meeting. After receiving a proposal supported by twenty-two (22) Kansas City area chapters, the State Executive Council voted to accept their proposal to establish a new Missouri FCCLA Region - officially Region 14!



According to our Missouri FCCLA Bylaws, Article III, Section 2 - Regional Organizations, the number of designated regions is subject to revision by the state supervisory staff in the approval of the Board of Directors. The state supervisory staff had no objections to the establishment of this new region, and we support efforts to provide additional opportunities for leadership development through FCCLA - The Ultimate Leadership Experience.


A full list of schools that will be assigned to Region 14 will be developed in the coming weeks. The new region won't be fully implemented until the 2010-2011 school year. The 2009-2010 school year will be a transition year. The state advisor will develop, with assistance from the supporting schools in the Kansas City area, as well as leadership in Regions 2 and 12, a transition plan to assist with the infrastructure and leadership development for this new region.

So, congratulations to the chapter advisors from the Kansas City area that turned their ideas into action and submitted this proposal. And, congratulations Missouri FCCLA - we're growing!
