The South Shelby FCCLA Chapter chaired an outreach project that took place throughout the high school. The chapter officers got together with the other organizations around the schools to organize a dance fundraiser. The school had recently found out that one of its fellow students has been diagnosed with multiple cancers. The South Shelby FCCLA chapter organized the dance along with other organizations to help the family out financially. The Halloween dance was a success, and the school was able to show their support. At the dance we had food, a costume contest, dance contest and a lot of laughs. Chapter members then recruited the other schools to do something to help this family; one of the elementary schools had a hat day while the other held pajama day. The money is still rolling in, but at this point we have raised over $1,000 for the family. The South Shelby FCCLA chapter took charge and helped out a fellow student in their time of need.
