The Missouri SEC (State Executive Council) is busy working on plans for the 2008-09 school year. The SEC is meeting in Springfield this week and has already made progress on the 2009 State Leadership Conference and Access FCCLA Conference preparations. In addition, committees have been formed to review items such as the organizational bylaws, state STAR Events, state community service projects, communication methods, and ways to use technology to better meet the needs of our members and chapters.
We did a fun activity during the meeting on Monday night where the SEC practiced voting via text message through a website called http://www.polleverywhere.com/. Maybe we can try to use this technology at the fall Access FCCLA conference!
The officers are working really hard for the association, but they have their fun times as a council, too. Tonight the members visited the famous Lambert Cafe, home of the "throwed rolls." Good food, good friends, and lots of fun!
